Odoo assume all your variants are sold with same unit price, unit of measurement. Sometimes, it's not the case
Our Approach
Variants have their own Unit of Measurement, but it must be of the same category as the Product.
For example, we can sell our homebrew brandy with Small bottle of 330ml, Large bottole of 1l or even barrel of 50l.

Mapping variant with UoM
For example, you sell Electric Cable via a roll of 200m, by the single metre or by 5 or 10 meters each with different unit price
Website sale
When customer order via website sale, the correct UoM is applied and the correct pricing is retrieved. All the function of Price List, Promotion etc works
Sale Order
With correct UoM in Sale Order, all other processes will work normally including the quantity sold or the inventory processes
